Ejaz's soulful style of singing Qawwali brings a new life to this (love poem) ghazal by Faiz Ahmed Faiz mixed in with beautiful verses by Baba Farid Ganj-e-Shakar.

Baba Farid was a Peer/Murshid of Nizamuddin Aulia of Delhi.

This wonderful recital was in honor of Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri who is obviously a passionate lover of sufiana kalam. He is seated at the front with the microphone.

I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. This is one of those rare recitals that I like to listen to again and again and find it particularly touching and uplifting. The samaa in this video is great, though a trifle conservative looking in places, listeners are really into the poetry and the spiritual verses.
