Of all the beautiful music coming out of Pakistan today surely this has got to be right among the top.
For the last two years Lahore Music Forum is helping to showcase, record and produce classical and
semi-classical music in Lahore and at times in Karachi. Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan was the highlight in
a classical music concert organized by the Lahore Music Forum (LMF) at the Punjab Institute of
Language Art and Culture (PILAC) on 9th November 2012.
In his typically humble style, before starting the thumri, Ustad Mubarak says. "Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan
ki yaad taza karni hai. Ye barde log thae. Ye hamaray liye school hein. in se hamain istefada karna chahiye.
inhon ne ga baja ke naam kiya hai. aisaa gaye ke voh gana iss daur mein nahin hai. yaqeen karein" :-)
