Tanam Farsooda Jaan Para - NFAK - Naat-e-Rasool -

Several readers have asked where they can find the audio. It is part of a collection entitled "Sufi Qawwalis" and the reason you may have difficulty to google it is because the track is called "Naat-e-Rasool" not Tanam Farsooda. This rendition is particularly special to me because of the satisfying alaap. An introduction that is common to qawwali and differs in almost every rendition depending on the mood the qawwal sets at that particular occasion.

If one listens carefully and deliberately to all the words in the preamble then the repetition of verses (Pashaema ya Rasool-Allah..) has an even greater impact.

Tanam Farsooda Jaan Para - Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan from Tasawwuf

Kalam Moalana Ahmed Jaami

Tanam Farsooda jaa para
Ze Hijra Ya Rasulullah
Dillam Paz Murda Aawara
Ze Isyaa. Ya Rasulullah!

My body is dissolving in your separation
And my soul is breaking into pieces. Ya Rasulullah!
Due to my sins, My heart is weak and becoming enticed. Ya Rasulullah!
______________________________________________

Choon Soo’e Mun Guzar Aari
Manne Miskeen Zanaa Daari
Fida-E-Naqsh-E-Nalainat
Kunam Ja. Ya Rasulullah!

When you pass by me
Then even in my immense poverty, ecstatically,
I must sacrifice my soul on your blessed sandal. Ya Rasulullah!
______________________________________________

Ze Jaame Hubb To Mustam
Ba Zanjeere To Dil Bustam
Nu’mi Goyam Ke Mun Bustum
Sukun Daa. Ya Rasulullah!

I am drowned in the taste of your love
And the chain of your love binds my heart.
Yet I don’t say that I know this language (of love). Ya Rasulullah!
______________________________________________

Ze Kharda Khaish Hairaanam
Siyaa Shud Roze Isyaanam
Pashemaanam, Pashemaanam, Pashemaanam. Ya Rasulullah!

I am worried due to my misdeeds;
And I feel that my sins have blackened my heart. Ya Rasulullah!
I am in distress! I am in distress! I am in distress! Ya Rasulullah!
______________________________________________

Choon Baazoo’e Shafaa’at Raa
Khushaa’I Bar Gunaagara
Makun Mahruume Jaami Raa
Daraa Aan. Ya Rasulullah!

Ya Rasulullah! When you spread your hands to intercede for the sinners,
Then do not deprive Jaami of your exalted intercession.

Absolutely out of this world. It takes one to a higher plateau, especially:

Pashema nam, Pashema nam
Pashema Ya Rasoolullah.

Thank you for posting the track. Farsi & English translation help understand the real depth of the meaning. Maulana Jami has excelled here in his submission to the Prophet.

Some verses are missing in Farsi & English. It would be wonderful, if you could post those too. Then one can enjoy the meaning of entire kalam. Thank you.

This kalam is speechless. To tell you about the kalam, this is the most most respectful kalam (Naat) in sofiism. Sufis of all time always liked this beautiful Naat no matter he was Daata sb, Khawaja Moin uddin Chisti, Laal Shahbaz Qalandar, Hazoor Pir Mehr Ali Shah and you name it. You may say this is a blessed Naat.
