Tum Aaye Ho Na Shab-e-Intezar Guzri Hai

Tum Aaye Ho Na Shab-e-Intizar Guzri Hai
Talaash Mein Hai Sehar, Bar Bar Guzri Hai

Junoon mein jitni bhi guzri, bakaar Guzri Hai
Agar che Dil Pe KHarabi Hazar Guzri Hai

Woh Baat Saare Fasaane Mein Jis ka Zikra Na Tha
Woh Baat Unko Bahut NaGavaar Guzri Hai

Huii Hai Hazrat-e-Naaseh se Guftguu Jis Shab
Woh Shab Zaruur Sar-e-Kuh-e-Yaar Guzri Hai

Na Gul Khile hein, Na un Se Mile, Na Mai Pii Hai
Ajeeb Rung Mein ab Ke Bahaar Guzri Hai

Chaman Mein Gaarat-e-gulchiin se Jaane Kya Guzri
Qafas se Aaj Sabaa be-Qaraar Guzri Hai

Tum Aaye Ho Na Shab-e-Intizar Guzri Hai
Talaash Mein Hai Sehar, Bar Bar Guzri Hai

Ejaz's soulful style of singing Qawwali brings a new life to the first couplet of the (love poem) ghazal by Faiz Ahmed Faiz mixed with the beautiful verses by Khawaja Ghulam Farid of Kot Mithan.

This wonderful recital was in honor of Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri who is obviously a passionate lover of sufiana kalam. He is seated at the front with the microphone.

I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. This is one of those rare recitals that I like to listen to again and again and find it particularly touching and uplifting. The samaa in this video is great, though a trifle conservative looking in places, listeners are really into the poetry and the spiritual verses.

Khwaja Ghulam Fareed Sahib (1845–1901) or Khawaja Farid (Punjabi/Saraiki: ਖ਼੍ਵਾਜਾ ਫ਼ਰੀਦ, خواجہ فرید, ख़्वाजा फ़रीद) is considered one of the greatest Saraiki poets, Chishti-Nizamimystic and Sajjada nashin (Patron saint) of the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent. He was born and died at Chacharan Shrif but buried at Kot Mithan.
